Lush Forest Landscape w/ Cottage Oil Painting on Canvas / Listed Artist
This is an interesting oil painting on canvas of a charming cottage in a lush forest landscape. The colors and textures are wonderful. The way the sunlight filters into the forest creates an enchanting picture. The signature of this listed artist is in the lower left hand corner of the canvas. Hard to make out. There are also two more signatures, one on the back-side of the canvas and another on the wood backing. Not sure if they match the signature on the front. (see photo) This oil painting is in excellent original condition. It is framed by the original canvas matting and the original molded dark wood frame, also in excellent original condition. This is a very large and captivating, original, hand-done oil painting on canvas of a marketplace scene. Lots of interesting activities going on including merchants selling baskets of bananas. Nice depth. Bright, vivid colors throughout. The bottom left corner of painting is signed by the artist, "Amoroso"…Possibly listed artist, Jack Amoroso. Large Landscape Oil Painting on Canvas of Covered Bridge / Artist: J. Tompkins / Salmagundi Art Club
This is a wonderful large landscape oil painting on canvas, signed by the artist, "J. Tompkins". On the back of the stretcher is the original "Salmagundi Art Club" label. This artist must have been a member of the Salmagundi Club. The focus of the painting is the antique covered bridge and its reflection in the water. There are some amusing details the artist included in the painting, such as the fish jumping out of the water after a dragonfly. Also, there’s an owl perched in a tree in the upper right hand corner; and just below the ‘Chew Mail Pouch’ sign is the artist’s initials, "J.T.". I wonder if the initials are really carved there? This very appealing oil painting is in excellent original condition. Original wire hanger. Circa 1930’s - 1940’s.

This is a very compelling and intriguing Modern oil painting on canvas of the Earth on Fire. This picture radiates with intense energy. The fiery sphere has an extraordinary, brilliant, and enticing quality to it. The colors are very strong and distinct. The brightly illuminated moon adds a fascinating aspect to this very interesting painting. The painting is signed and dated by the artist, "Der Avedisian 1970", in the bottom right corner, along with a monogram above the artist’s signature - (see photo). This painting is in excellent original condition, except for two very tiny chips of paint missing just above the earth and consistent, fine, light crackling, mainly in the black background. This is a thought-provoking oil painting that would surely be a focal point in any room. The frame is wood with decorative gesso. It retains the original black and green finish. The frame is also in excellent original condition. Original, double wire hanger. Circa 1970.
