This is a compelling watercolor of two charming little oriental girls. It’s a very pleasing picture, capturing the children’s emotions and their bond to each other. They are perhaps tired and resting on a stoop. The older girl is barefoot and the little girl has one shoe unbuckled. The watercolor is signed by the artist, "F.W." in the lower left hand corner and dated, "April 6, 1936" in the lower right hand corner. This is a lovely watercolor in excellent original condition. The frame is original to the piece. It is a nicely decorated, molded wood frame with original gold paint and original glass. Original cardboard backing and old string hanger. |
