| This is a charming antique Victorian print of a grouping of 10 Waxbill birds perched on a decorative lattice fence and almond blossoms. The print has tremendous charm and appeal. The background of the print itself is textured. The artist captured the sweet expressions and realistic poses of all the birds. The details are wonderful. The colors are bright and realistic. The print is titled, "Waxbill and almond blossom." in the lower left and signed by the artist, "E. Welby" below the branches on the lower right side. This attractive Victorian print is in excellent original condition. The original heavy matting has some slight spots of discoloration, which is apparent in the photos. The frame is original and very complimentary to the print. It is oak with fancy delicate floral designs and scrollwork. It also has the original finish. Original glass and wire hanger. Missing paper backing. |
