| This is a charming large, antique Victorian lithograph / print of two little girls, perhaps sisters. They are enjoying the day in a field by a lake. It’s a very sweet picture with the older child giving the younger one a piggyback ride. The smaller girl has a bouquet of flowers and she is missing a shoe. The colors are bright and the children have sweet faces. The lithograph is in excellent original condition. It is in the original wood frame. The frame is in excellent condition. The piece also retains the original glass and wire hanger. The most intriguing aspect of this antique picture is the backing. It is a diploma to teach kindergarten. It is the diploma of Mildred Esther Ward, dated 1928. Who would ever put their diploma behind a picture? The backing is missing, which would have covered the diploma. This is truly a wonderful and captivating picture. This piece is in excellent original condition. |
