This is a very appealing antique oil painting on board. It is signed by the artist, "Lloyd" and dated, "1873". This is an inviting snowy scene with the fancy iron gate left open, drawing you into the church courtyard. Nice details throughout. The painting is in excellent original condition. The original antique wood frame is heavily decorated with gesso and retains a beautiful patina. A little chipping in the lower left corner of frame. Original wire hanger. Circa 1873. |
