This is an interesting oil painting on canvas of a charming cottage in a lush forest landscape. The colors and textures are wonderful. The way the sunlight filters into the forest creates an enchanting picture. The signature of this listed artist is in the lower left hand corner of the canvas. Hard to make out. There are also two more signatures, one on the back-side of the canvas and another on the wood backing. Not sure if they match the signature on the front. (see photo) This oil painting is in excellent original condition. It is framed by the original canvas matting and the original molded dark wood frame, also in excellent original condition. Original wire hanger. Circa 1930 - 1940’s. |
