| This is a very attractive antique Victorian late 19th century pastel landscape painting. It is signed by the well-listed artist, "Braley", in the bottom left corner. The lovely colors and lush landscape create an inviting scene. Nature’s beauty shines with the artist’s wonderful attention to the majestic mountains, bright blue sky, the wild grasses, bushes, and the pealing bark on the tall birch trees. A person walking along the road adds interest to the painting. The pastel and matting are both in excellent original condition. Original, complimentary wood frame with decorative gesso. The frame is also in excellent original condition. It retains the original cream-colored finish with the gesso painted gold. Original wood backing, original glass, and old wire hanger. Circa late 19th century. |
